W4 Holiday Art for All Ages - General information
FEBRUARY HALF TERM WORKSHOPS - Mardi Gras & Boat Building
What?
During most School and Half Term holidays 8-10 or less W4AC Children , weather permitting are outside or under canvas, drawing, painting, printing and making in our huge beautiful walled private garden in Chiswick. At Christmas and February Half Terms we are usually inside, centrally heated....
Themes have included the ever popular Space, Puppets, The Wild West, Eggcentric Art, Pirates and Mermaids [ of the Caribbean!!], Castles, Knights, Princesses, Fairies and Magicians, New York, Bugs, Halloween Horrors, Xmas making etc.
How many?
Groups are always small and limited to 8 - 10 children to ensure that everyone gets the maximum support and attention.
Times ?
Generally we offer the following groups and, these guidelines may be useful or not!
9.30-10.30 - is best for accompanied 16 months to 3 year olds + older siblings up to 5 years +
or anyone under 7/8 who likes having fun splattering, spraying, splashing , sloshing, painting with big brushes, rollers and fly swatters, and then followed by a bit of independent or assisted making or printing and collaging with a range of materials.
10.45 - 12.45 might be better for 3 year olds with younger siblings or older ones up to 7
This can still include a lot of messy experimental stuff with the pigment but children are ready for more independent and sophisticated designs/drawing/painting/making. Mums and carers who stay may not be allowed to 'help' quite as much as they would like and enjoy .
1.45-4.45 are for Independent Artists usually 5+/6/7 to 11 or even 13 years but, depending on the specific activities planned, the older children may be grouped separately from the younger ones.
These sessions can involve some real nitty gritty lateral problem solving skills and the learning of new conceptual and practical skills.
Full days or early starts/late finishes are usually possible including lunchtime/after class care. Please email your needs

1. CHILDREN + BLOCK BOOKINGS AT ONGOING TERM TIME SESSIONS e.g. Artabugs/Drawing /After school
Parents are welcome to use/set off their term time tickets ] against the cost of an equivalent Holiday sessions for ANY children in their family [including siblings not attending regular term time sessions] or buy additional sessions at the holiday rate.
2. EVERYONE ELSE
who buys collectively + friends and/or come to more/ longer sessions will find that some prices are actually lower than last summer
