These are perfect sociable opportunities to meet other adults in a friendly and comfortable environment over a cuppa/glass of wine while trying out different art materials and techniques. 

 Everyone is welcome and works at their own level . The creatively ‘challenged’ are particularly welcome and no experience is necessary.  However, they also suit anyone who just needs to get their  hands off those *** I phones/pads or other forms of digitalized drudgery  and come and get into some nitty gritty hands on real time playful creativity and making.

So ring fence your diary for the 2nd Wednesday of every month, staple down any necessary Partner Payback on cooking/child care and come on your own or invite a friend for  an evening of creative playful fun [ + glass of wine and a few snacks]on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Everyone will have an opportunity to try out one or more creative  activities involving a LOT of pink, reds, whites  and glitzy silver media including paper / card / feathers ‘n fluff/ fabrics / silk flowers / beads/ paint / print / sugar dough. You can make original cards or tiny bijoux boxes with token gifts for your secret loved ones or just accept our permission to explore and play in you own way with different materials, equipment and learn some interesting mixed media techniques.  BLOKES - Do you dare to be different ? YOU are particularly welcome and there are some FREE places for BLOKES to join this EXTRAVAGANZA of sexy sugary pinks and riotous ruby reds. Win a new partner or impress the current one + your DIY personalized cards/gifts and learn all manner of paper craft/ sculpture/ modelling techniques as you go. It's a NO brainer - incredible value for money. SELF PORTRAITS - No/ minimal experience a real advantage. Why is it so difficult to do this but ...with a few clues and tricks of the trade ... is it so problematic?? Come and find out. People who want to carry on + portraiture will have an opportunity to join a 3-5 session ongoing weekly/fortnightly group on drawing/modelling/collaging the human head.

 

IDEAS FOR FUTURE SESSIONS

What about trying painting+ acrylics, oils, water colours? How about getting to grips with drawing skills with some charcoal, pastels etc...?? Experience simple printing techniques or 3D media including plaster/paper clay/papier [mache] sculpture.

You could also rediscover some simple weaving, sewing/embroidery ideas or complicated knitting moves or find out how to flex that crotchet hook.. or just see what you can do with the contents of your kitchen/bathroom/recycling bin....

Ideally I would also like to bring in other artists and specialist crafts people colleagues and maybe we might even plan expeditions to shows and galleries for

All of these will be suitable for total beginners as well as those who simply want to get back into some creative activity and do not have the space/materials at home or the time to commit to a course.

October 2011 Modroc  [ Plaster gauze] .

Don't worry if you missed this Modroc taster. It will be back! It was a big hit and very friendly. Most people came on their own and everyone was a beginner and had a great time and produced some great designs and impressive work. See the pictures....
